Install the App

Tabletop League can be installed on your phone, tablet, or computer. It's the same site — installing adds an icon to your Home Screen or app launcher that opens Tabletop League in its own window, without the browser's tabs and address bar in the way.

There's nothing to download from an app store, and no separate account.

What installing gets you

  • Push notifications on iPhone and iPad. Apple only delivers web push to an installed app, so on iOS and iPadOS this is the only way to get push at all. (On Android and desktop, push works in a normal browser tab too — installing is optional there.)
  • A badge on the app icon showing how many notifications are waiting. Supported on installed Chrome and Edge on desktop, on Android, and on iPhone/iPad running iOS 16.4 or later once you've allowed notifications.
  • A one-tap launch straight into your dashboard, instead of finding the tab you left open.

What it does not get you: offline access. Tabletop League needs a connection to load pages, report a result, or run a draft. Installing changes how the app launches and how it can notify you — it doesn't put your matches on your device.

iPhone and iPad

On iOS and iPadOS, installing is a Safari feature:

  1. Open Tabletop League in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button in the Safari toolbar.
  3. Scroll down and choose Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add, then open Tabletop League from your Home Screen.
  5. Go to Settings → Notifications and tap Enable Push Notifications.

Step 5 matters: notification permission belongs to the installed app, not to the Safari tab you were in before. If you allowed notifications in the tab, you still need to allow them again once from the Home Screen icon.

You don't have to remember this sequence. If you tap Enable Push Notifications on an iPhone or iPad that hasn't installed the app yet, we show you these steps instead of asking for a permission that couldn't work.

Android

Chrome offers to install Tabletop League from its own menu — look for Install app or Add to Home screen in the browser menu.

You'll also be offered the install at the moment it's useful: tap Enable Push Notifications under Settings → Notifications and, if the app isn't installed yet, your browser's install prompt appears first, followed by the notification permission request.

If the cookie banner is on screen, we hold the install prompt back rather than stacking two things at the bottom of your display. Dismiss the banner and tap Enable Push Notifications again.

Desktop

In Chrome or Edge, use the install icon in the address bar, or the browser menu's Install entry. Tabletop League then runs in its own window and can badge its icon in your taskbar or dock when notifications arrive.

Safari and Firefox on desktop don't offer the same install; the site works normally there, just in a regular tab.

Turning things off, or removing the app

  • Push notifications are controlled in Settings → Notifications — turn the channel off or narrow it to the categories you care about. Your preferences are stored on your account, so they follow you between devices and survive a reinstall.
  • Removing the app is the same as removing any other app icon: delete it from your Home Screen, launcher, or apps list. Nothing happens to your account, your competitions, or your notification settings.

If something isn't working

  • "Your browser does not support push notifications." — the push card says this when the browser has no notification support at all. Try Chrome or Edge, or install the app on iOS as described above.
  • "Notifications blocked." — you (or the browser) declined the permission at some point. Re-allow notifications for Tabletop League in your browser or OS settings, then tap Enable Push Notifications again.
  • Nothing arrives on iPhone. — check that you opened the app from the Home Screen icon rather than a Safari tab, and that you're on iOS 16.4 or later.
  • The installed app looks out of date after a while. — remove the icon and add it again; that re-reads the app's install details from scratch.
