Invitations & Unlisted Events

Not every competition is open to everyone, and not every competition wants to be found. Two separate settings decide that, and they're independent — an event can be one, both, or neither.

Unlisted competitions

An unlisted competition doesn't appear in competition lists, search results, or a game's competitions hub. It isn't hidden, though: anyone with the link can open it and see the roster, bracket, standings and results, exactly as they could for any other event. Pasting the link into Discord or a chat app still shows the competition's name and description too — only the artwork preview is left off.

So if an organizer sends you a link to an event you can't find by browsing, that's expected — bookmark it, or find it again through your own profile or your notifications once you've registered.

Unlisted says nothing about who can join. That's the next setting.

Invitation-only competitions

An invitation only competition can be viewed by anyone but joined only by players the organizer invited, or who used one of their invite links. Where you'd normally find the registration controls, the competition page instead shows an Invitation only panel — badged Invitational — explaining that you need an invitation.

There are two ways in.

A direct invitation

If an organizer invited you personally, the competition page shows a You're invited banner with any message they added, and two buttons:

  • Accept invitation — unlocks registration for you. It doesn't register you: you still go through the normal registration flow, including any custom questions, rules acknowledgment, Discord requirements, and the participant cap or waitlist. What you do skip is organizer approval, even when the competition normally requires it — the invitation counts as the approval.
  • Decline — a confirmation dialog asks you to confirm, because declining is permanent for that competition. The organizer can't send you a second invitation to it.

You'll also get a notification when an invitation arrives. Invitations are delivered in-app and by push only — never by email or Discord — and the notification itself is a plain "Organizer invited you to Competition". Any note the organizer wrote appears only on the invitation banner, on the competition page you navigate to yourself.

"Don't let this organizer invite me again." The decline dialog offers this checkbox. Tick it and that organizer can't invite you to any of their competitions — not just this one. They're never told you did it. You can undo it later (see Who can invite me below).

Declining isn't a dead end. If you change your mind, you can still join through an invite link the organizer shares — the block is on them pushing invitations at you, not on you choosing to come in. They just can't re-send.

If an invitation sat too long, the banner tells you it has expired — ask the organizer to send a new one or share an invite link.

Organizers can create shareable links (typically posted in Discord or a group chat) that let anyone who opens them join. Open the link and you'll see a preview of the competition and an explicit Accept invitation button.

  • Sign in first. An invite link only works for a signed-in account. If you open one while signed out you'll be sent to the sign-in page and returned to the invitation as soon as you're in — no need to dig the link out again.
  • Opening a link doesn't use it up. Links can have a maximum number of uses, but only pressing the button counts — so previewing one, or having a chat app unfurl it, costs nothing.
  • Links can be revoked, expire, or run out of uses. If any of those has happened you'll get a plain message saying which, and the fix is the same: ask the organizer for a new one.

Accepting a link works exactly like accepting a direct invitation: registration unlocks, and the rest of the normal flow still applies.

Who can invite me

Open Settings → Notifications and find the Who can invite me card. It controls who may send you a competition invitation, and it never affects which competitions you can find or join yourself.

Two things are true whichever you pick:

  • Invite links always work. Every option here governs invitations pushed to you. A link is you choosing to come in, so it's never blocked — including by a mute.
  • Organizers who don't know you already reach you more quietly. An invitation from an organizer you've never followed or played with arrives in-app only — no push notification — so it waits in your bell icon rather than buzzing your phone.

Muted organizers

Once you've muted at least one organizer (through the decline dialog above), a Muted organizers list appears on the same card, each with an option to unmute. They're never told they were muted, and unmuting simply lets their invitations reach you again.
